Dear members of FCEA,
We are sad to announce that due to the unprecedented effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 FCEA conference in Orlando, Florida has been canceled. We discussed several options before coming to this difficult decision, options such as postponing the event for the spring or going to a digital-only presentation format, but both options presented risks or challenges that we could not guarantee to overcome in just six months. Our Board of Directors is made up of college professionals, so we understand first-hand the stress and uncertainty our industry is currently facing. Please know that we stand with you in spirit and look forward to the day when we can come together for scholarship and fellowship.
In the meantime, the Board of Directors is already planning for our 2021 conference. We have every intention of holding a live event as usual (with any necessary safety measures), and we are planning ahead for whatever new form our industry may need to provide professional development for our members.
To help our members maintain their “active” status in the club for the 2020-2021 academic year, we are keeping our membership link open. At this link, members will be able to provide their yearly membership dues, and new members will be able to join our ranks. Upon completing your 2020-2021 membership registration, you can request a letter for proof of membership to include in your tenure or employment portfolio. We want to do everything we can to provide ongoing support for our members.
Thank you for being a member of FCEA. We look forward to meeting again in 2021. Until then, be on the lookout for periodic updates for our upcoming events and opportunities.
Warmest Regards,
Chrissy
